How to make Chilli Gobi / Dry Gobi Manchurian ?

In a bowl mix maida, cornflour, chili sauce, ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder and some salt. Add water and whisk to make a flowing batter. In a pan heat oil for deep frying. Take cauliflower florets and dip in the batter one by one and deep fry them till golden and crisp. Collect the fried cauliflower fritters in a separate bowl and keep aside. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a non stick wok or a pan and add chopped garlic. Saute for 2 mins and then add diced onions and capsicum. Saute them all for another 3-4 mins. Now add tomato sauce, red chili sauce and soy sauce and give a quick stir. Now add the slurry along with some freshly ground black pepper and mix well. Season the mix with little salt ad mix again. Add in the fried cauliflower fritters into the pan and mix to combine. Fry for another 2-3 mins and turn off the gas. Sprinkle some roasted sesame on top and serve hot.

If you don’t have red chili sauce then you can use regular green chili sauce too.I have added sesame in the batter, this gives it a bite and character to the fritters, but you skip adding it if you feel like. You can also add chopped spring onions with the onions and capsicum and also use some for garnishing. Red and yellow bell pepper can also be added along with the vegetables.
