Chicken Pulao / Chicken Pilaf In Multipot

Chicken Pulao is a complete one pot meal that is best served with your favorite curry and raita. For those who dont want to get into the labour and trouble of making Biryani can satisfy their soul (partially) by making Chicken Pulao aka Chicken Pilaf. I know many of you must be thinking what’s the difference in making this and making a biryani. Well, biryani is a laborious task that is slow cooked with continuous monitoring and eye balling of ingredients. It’s not just made with hardwork but it’s a recipe that needs all your love and patience. Where as pulao is a much easier version where everything is cooked together and gets ready in just 30 mins. The flavors are mild yet enriching and delicious.

How to make Chicken Pulao in Multipot ?

Wash and soak water 30 mins before cooking. Heat oil in multipot at saute mode and add in the whole spices. Wait till they sizzle. Now add sliced onions and fry till they sweat. Add ginger garlic paste along with some slit green chilies and saute till golden in color. Now add the chicken pieces, mix well and fry for 5 mins until the moisture reduces. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and chicken masala. Mix and fry till oil starts leaving the sides.Add curd to the chicken mix and fry for another 5 mins till water reduces. Take the soaked rice, drain excess water and add rice to the chicken mix. Combine all such that everything incorporates well.Fry rice and chicken together for another 5 mins until rice looks dry and non sticky. Season with salt as per taste and add water double the measurement of rice. (1.5 cups rice = 3 cups water) Add lemon juice and give a quick stir.Close the lid of the Multi pot and seal vent. Cook for 10-12 mins in pressure cooker mode and wait till the pressure releases completely. Carefully open the lid and add ghee on top, chopped mint and coriander. Gently mix and serve hot with raita and curry.

How to make Chicken Pulao on Stove Top ?

Follow the instructions same as above but replace multipot with a broad mouth pressure cooker.
