Sometimes it gets really difficult with kids around. It’s the toughest to impress them along with feeding something healthy. Kids have a strong sweet tooth and are fond of cookies and cake. My son just finished his exams hence, he deserves a treat that is tasty yet healthy. Whole Wheat Eggless Chocolate Cookies are the perfect treat for him and his friends too. Enjoyed by the grown ups too, this sweet snack can also be made by oatmeal to make it even more healthier.
Cookies are certainly a double doze of chocolate with crunchy sugar granules in every bite. If you don’t like granulated sugar in your cookies, just add castor sugar or powdered sugar . The recipe shared here is eggless but it can also be made with eggs by replacing milk and adding vanilla extract. I made this eggless because my son often carries these goodies in his tiffin and i want everyone to enjoy this yummy treat without any doubts of having eggs.

How To Make Whole Wheat Eggless Chocolate Cookies ?
In a large mixing bowl sieve together wheat flour, cocoa powder, semolina & baking powder. In a separate bowl whisk butter and castor sugar till light & fluffy. Now add vanilla extract and mix well. Now add dry mix to wet mix slowly and mix till it form crumbs. Slowly knead the mix into a soft dough. You can add 1-2 Tbsp milk to the dough if it’s too crumbly. Meanwhile pre heat the oven at 180 degree C and line the baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop a small lemon size portion from the dough and gently flatten it with hands. Place the cookie on the baking tray. Similarly line cookies in a row with 2 inch gap in between. Place the baking tray inside the oven and bake for 12-15 mins. Now transfer the tray on a wire rack and the cookies cool at room temperature completely. Now dust some castor sugar on top and serve. Store them in an air-tight container.
What are the variations to this recipe ?
Any cookie recipe comes with a couple of variations that are adapted as per choice. You can replace whole wheat flour with refined all purpose flour. I have added semolina to get a nutty texture but you can skip adding that. I have also added chocolate chips to the dough but if you don’t have any, you can simply break any regular chocolate into small pieces and add to the cookie mix. I skipped using salt because i added salted butter, but if you are using unsalted butter then add a pinch of salt to the mix.
