Death By Chocolate Cup Cakes

Forget love, i’d rather fall in chocolate! Death by chocolate…yes you heard it right, it’s so much chocolate that can kill you in happiness. Simple ingredients that makes these cup cakes simply irresistible. Normally the chocolate cup cakes are made with cocoa powder but here the secret behind the name is that double chocolate is used for making these sinful cute cuppies.


Death by chocolate cup cakes or double chocolate cup cakes can be designed with confettis and silver balls. You can also frost it by piping beautiful chocolate ganache roses or simply by dusting some confectionar’s sugar specially for those who love to keep it simple.

As i had baked them for my son’s house party ,  tried to make it more gooey and chocolaty by dropping a spoonful of melted chocolate on top and sprinkling some confettis and silver balls, which i guess every child would love to have.

So let us proceed to check out the simple ingredients required and direction to make these cute cup cakes.

Instructions
  1. Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt and keep aside.
  2. Cream sugar and butter and add eggs one at a time and whisk again to make a light lemon yellow creamy mix.
  3. Add butter milk and vanilla extract into the egg mix and give a quick stir again till everything gets incorporated.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet mix along with 1 cup of finely chopped dark chocolate and fold in to make a smooth batter. You can also use choco chips in place of chopped chocolate.
  5. Pre heat the oven at 180 degree C. Meanwhile fill in the cup cake liners with the batter. Fill them half because the cake will rise while baking.
  6. Place the filled liners in muffin tay and bake for 20-25 mins or til the tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Meanwhile mealt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a double boiler and stir well to break lumps. Melt it completely till you get smooth flowing chocolate.
  8. Place the cup cakes on a cooling rack and pour spoonful of melted chocolate on each cup cake.
  9. Sprinkle some confettis and silver balls to make it look more appealing and fancy. You can even frost it with chocolate ganache or chocolate butter cream
  10. Allow it to cool and later serve it to kids in their pajama party and trust me they gonna enjoy it to the fullest.

Hi Meenakshi, sorry for the delay in reply. yes yu can use chocolate compound as well, make sure you chop the chocolate well.
