Kabuli Chana Kebab / Chickpea Kebab

There is something very interesting and appetizing about vegetarian Kebabs, they not just resemble the non vegetarian ones, but tastes no less than any mutton or chicken kebab. Healthy and protein packed Kabuli Chana Kebab is one such recipe that is an easy variation of Shammi Kebab. Boiled chickpeas combined with potatoes and flavored with Indian spices makes an amazing patty style kebab that s a great option as a starter for your parties and also kids tiffin.

Instructions
  1. Soak kabuli chana overnight and pressure cook them till they are cooked well.
  2. Drain water and collect the boiled chana in a bowl.
  3. Mash them well with hands or blend them in a mixer.
  4. Add boiled and mashed potatoes and all the rest other ingredients except sesame and oil.
  5. Mix well with hands and keep mashing the dough well.
  6. Pinch a large lemon sized ball and flatten it to shape the kebab.
  7. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top and gently press them to fix.
  8. Heat a non stick, flat based skillet or tawa and grease well with oil.
  9. Place the kebabs and pan roast them from both sides till golden in color.
  10. Serve hot with Imli ki Chutney or Mint Coriander Dip.

I guess this is a perfect substitute for non veg kebab and also can be used as a patty in Burger.
