A dessert that takes me back to my childhood memories is Shahi Tukda. I first encountered with this rich and delicious dessert at my grand mom’s home. Since then i have been dying to get that flavor and taste what my Grand mom used to offer us. A recipe that transports me to my good old days and reminds me of my family, a heirloom recipe that came to me all the way traveling from my mom to me. Shahi Tukda is one such dessert that is made in my home in all special or ordinary occasions. Yes! we in the family can have it daily as our dinner dessert. A strict NO to all the weight watchers , this dessert shall take you on a heavy calorie ride. Deep fried bread slices (ghee fried) are then soaked in an aromatic sugar syrup and later served with Rabri along with lots and lots of dry fruits is sheer bliss!
