Have you ever sat wondering why restaurant food tastes different from home food. In fact i would say that most of the restaurants serve same curry for most of their dishes hence they all taste the same with little halka fulka difference. Its only the paneer butter masala that tastes different from the other curries. My friend Anisa Arif once shared her amazing Mother Base Gravy recipe with me. As the name calls for itself, the gravy is the mother of seven different recipes. Yes, you heard me right, one mother gravy makes 7 different types of gravies for various…

Chinese is the new flavor in town, an what better than having some Indo-Chinese affair with some lip smacking Chili Paneer Chili . Our desi Indian Cottage Cheese or tofu when combined with Chinese flavor makes it absolutely delectable. The saucy sticky gravy with paneer, onions and green bell peppers gives a perfect blend of Indian and Chinese flavors. Me and my son are a big time fan of Indo Chinese food. Infact this is the only paneer delicacy where my son finishes off all the pieces alone without any fuss. Best part in this dish is that the consistency…

Healthy morning starts with a healthy breakfast that keeps our tummy light and our body energized. We have grown up eating Cheela in breakfast. My mom use to make varieties of cheela. It’s not just instant but can be made with almost anything and everything. Besan, Suji, Atta etc are common flours for making a cheela. When made in a non-stick pan the cheela becomes crisp and oil free. Yesterday while shopping for vegetables i got lots of spring onions. Thought to utilize the leaves to its fullest. In Chattisgarh spring onions is used for making lot of things. It…

Here falls a holiday again…! My cooking took a fancy turn again to please my son amd make his holiday worth. Presenting Paneer Malai Tikka with Cream Dip , Sauce , lil salad and accompanied by Jeweled Dark Chocolate Cake and Hot Chocolate Drink. Normally the Paneer Tikka is grilled in microwave but sometime i found that after grilling the tikkas use to get tight. So this time i opted to shallow roast them in a non stick tawa. The outer crust became crisp and the softness of the paneer inside kept intact.

Corn Marbles are one of the most wanted snack in my home. My son often nags for some hotel type snack which he can enjoy at home. Like any other kid even he is fond of all fried stuff. So i chose to make one at home instead of getting something ready made. Corn Marbles are tasty , crunchy oval shaped potato balls filled with corns, peas and pea nuts. The sewai coating makes it scrumptious and i make kids fall in love with the marbles. The corn marbles are again an easy option for kid’s tiffin boxes.

Today i tried my hands on the famous Galouti Kebabs of Lucknow. ‘Galouti’ or ‘Galawati’ means melt in the mouth. And definitely these kebabs melt in your mouth.Their is an interesting history of these Galouti kebabs. This kebab was especially created for the ageing Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Lucknow. The Nawab had lost all his teeth. But his passion for meat remained intact. So, this melt in the mouth kebab was prepared in his royal kitchens to satisfy the Nawab’s love for meat. The Galouti kebabs are traditionally prepared by marinating the finely ground goat meat with raw papaya…
