Soak chana dal for minimum 2 hrs. Drain water and set aside.
Now in a mixer grinder, take soaked chana dal, green chillies, curry leaves and grind it making a thick batter. Do not use excess water while grinding else the batter will become thin.
Empty the dal mix into a large bowl and add chopped cabbage, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, few chopped curry leaves, ginger paste and rice flour. Mix all together nicely. Adjust salt as per taste.
Heat oil in a thick bottomed wok and shape the mixture between your palm and deep fry them till golden in color.
Repeat same in batches and drain them on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
