  1. Wash and rinse quinoa nicely in water, drain and keep aside. Heat 2 cup of water in a pan and add quinoa and wait till it comes to a boil. Simmer the gas and cover the lid. Cook for 10 minutes til quinoa is soft and fluffy. Turn off the gas and let it rest and cool.
  2. Meanwhile steam green bean halves until just tender.
  3. Blanch Almonds, remove skin and cut into halves and keep aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl add all the prepared ingredients. Season with salt, black pepper and lemon juice. Mix nicely and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes

 

Few pointers to make perfect fluffy Quinoa :


  • Wash the seeds 2-3 times in running water to remove impurities.
  • Always strain washed Quinoa using a fine sieve.
  • Soak the washed seeds for 10-15 mins before cooking
  • Always heat water before adding Quinoa.
  • Cook on high flames till it comes to a boil then simmer the flames and cook with lid closed for 10-12 mins or until cooked.
  • Add 1/2 tsp butter before turning off the flames and gently mix with a fork.
  • Spread the cooked quinoa on a flat bottom tray/plate so that they don’t get sticky.
  • 1 cup Quinoa + 2 cups water = 2 cups cooked Quinoa
