Schezwan Noodle Sandwich

Fusion recipes are always fun to work on. Today i again tried one of my favorite fusion recipe that is now also loved by my son. He just loves this recipe and loves to show off to his friends during his school tiffin time…lol

Well its nothing much, just a fancy looking sandwich that is made with schezwan noodles, some veggies to go along and cheese. Now isn’t that amazing! Ciabatta stuffed with veggies, cheese and schezwan noodles makes a perfect sandwich which is not just delicious but also an excellent fusion dish specially if you have plenty of noodles left from last night’s party (wink wink). Just a few handful of ingredients and you are done with a super looking continental dish that will certainly make you the star of your kitchen among your friends and family.

  1. Heat oil in a non stick wok and add chopped veggies (onion, capsicum, cabbage and carrot) and saute them.
  2. Now add schezwan sauce , soy sauce, tomato sauce and stir well.
  3. Add in the boiled noodles and toss them nicely. Don't worry if the noodles break, as they have to go in a sandwich at the end.
  4. Adjust salt and season with freshly crushed black pepper. Mix for another few minutes and turn off the gas.
  5. Take one ciabatta bread or you can also try hot dog bread and slit apart from the center such that the bread opens up but does not fall apart.
  6. Place a lettuce or a cabbage leaf and tomato slices horizontal.
  7. Cut strips of cheese slice and place them on or beneath the tomatoes.
  8. Take spoonful of schezwan noodles and fill between the bread from one side to the other.
  9. Add some grated cheese over and gently press the bread.
  10. Heat it in a microwave before serving or you can also grill it in a grill pan. That totally depends on one's choice.
  11. Serve with a glass of soft drink and some extra noodles to refill.
