Rose Lassi

by Shaheen Ali

Summers are here and the days are getting hotter day by day. This is the season when our body gets dehydrated and requires lots of fluid intake. We need to keep our stomach full with cool and hydrated body. Though there are lots of energy drink and refreshers we get in summers but the most delicious and easiest of them is ROSE LASSI. Rose flavored sweet yogurt drink is filling and super refreshing.

Today the post is focused mainly on the pictures…. though i shall be sharing the recipe too but you can also call it as a picture post. Luckily i had a fresh bunch of pink roses at home today. so what better could i do with them. Early morning i identified a beautiful light throwing inside my bedroom through a window and falling on the bunch of roses. That was the moment when i rushed to get my camera and capture few beautiful still life roses.

Ever since i started blogging and photography, i have been following few and photographers who have inspired me in many ways. There splendid pictures leave me spellbound at times. One such amazing photographer and a very dear friend and a great human being is Simi Jois from Turmeric n’ Spice . While surfing her blog i suddenly came across an image of Rose Lassi. It was simple yet so elegant. I just could not take my eyes off. Months passed but it was decided somewhere in my mind that when ever i shoot a lassi the inspiration has to be Simi. I just can’t thank her enough for how she has inspired me to do better with every passing day.

So coming back to the Rose Lassi… as i mentioned above that this is one of the easiest recipe that can be made in a jiffy, specially when there are sudden guests in this hot climate. Fresh yogurt/ curd, some sugar , ice cubes and little rose syrup. Whisk them all and you are done. now wasn’t that super easy. Rose syrup helps in adding flavor and also acts as a refreshing agent to the drink. Let us check out the recipe now…
