Summer is coming and bringing along some cool thirst quenching recipes that will keep you hydrated all day in the scorching heat. My favorite season is winter and i just can’t stand through summer. The heat, humidity, sun, everything just makes me lethargic and i feel dehydrated all day. But with every bad thing come a bunch of good things as well which we need to discover at times. One such good thing about summer is the cooler recipes that comes into my blog the entire season.

To start with let us keep it simple for now, but who says simple things aren’t appealing? Well yeah, this is the most gorgeous looking tea ever, best enjoyed chilled. Some time back i got few tins of exotic teas from Tea Trunk that included various tea blends with some refreshing and aromatic ingredients. One of my favorite tea blend that i used through out the summer was Hibiscus Green Tea. During winter i used this tea as a detox for my body. Every morning a cup of hot hibiscus tea with some lemon and honey use to keep me charged whole day and even helped me in my workout regime. Great antioxidant, Hibiscus tea is not just beautiful but also has some amazing health benefits.

As the summer is almost here, i converted this Hibiscus Green Tea into a chilled and refreshing beverage that happens to be one of the gorgeous looking thirst quencher you can find during the season. It’s simple, ruby red brew can be a perfect welcome drink or a party drink for your guests at home. You can make the liquor and store in the fridge to be served chilled later when your guests arrive.

I added some fresh red rose petals for some more floral aroma, though the hibiscus green tea already had dry hibiscus flower petals along with some fennel and green tea. So when you make the liquor, it gives an amazing aroma which keeps you fresh all day long.

Hibiscus Lemon Tea

To make this Rose infused Hibiscus Lemon Tea all you need to do is boil water in a pan and add Hibiscus Green Tea leaves by Tea Trunk and red rose petals and simmer the flames for 3-4 minutes till you get ruby red brew. Turn off the gas and let the brew rest for a while till it cool down completely. Now add lemon juice and honey as per required sweetness. Add some fresh mint leaves and give the tea a nice stir so that the flavors get infused well. Strain the tea and collect in a pitcher and refrigerate till chilled. Serve in a glass or cup with some crushed ice, lemon slices and fresh mint as a garnish.
