HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! May this coming year bring lot of happiness and prosperity in your life. Cheers 🙂

Well for me New Year is definitely important but i am not a person to create a hype about it. For me 1st January is just another day after 31st December, so it barely matters. But yes, i definitely calculate an analyse my previous 365 days, work on my mistakes and try to rectify them in coming year. Celebrating New Year in my home has always been a little sober. We rarely go out, rather i would say non of us in the family likes to party out on the New year eve. So you can presume that it’s a family celebration only, within the house. We cook something nice and unusual, that we had never tried before, have a meal together, talk and wish each other…that’s all!

So like every year, this year also we tried making something that we haven’t tried before. What better than exploring regional recipes. So we opted making Assamese main course followed by Manipuri dessert. So our spread had few regular chicken starters, followed by main course which was something very delicious. I made Bhut Jolokia Murgh, that is Ghost Pepper Chicken and will post the recipe soon. Also made Aloo Konir Dom, that is Assamese spicy egg and potato curry.

So today i’ll be sharing the Aloo Konir Dom recipe in my blog which will lately be followed by some other mouth watering recipes.

Aloo Konir Dom is Assamese Egg and Potato Curry which is amazingly flavorful and also a bit spicy. Typically eaten with plain steamed rice and is an integral part of the daily meal. Usually the curry is made medium spicy but when served during special occasions, the curry look fiery red and hot.
