Monsoon has struck in most of the cities but still the weather seems to be very humid. Evenings are cool but afternoons certainly make one dehydrated. This is when you need a cool and refreshing drink that can give life back to your dry lips and dehydrated body. Its mangoes flooding the market and what better it can be to incorporate it with orange and lemonade!
So the drink of the day is – SUNSHINE (Orange Mango Lemonade Punch)
I made the concentrate with fresh fruits. Though the drink can be made with canned juices too but i preferred using fresh fruits. Recently came across this recipe on net and i immediately decided to try it for evening Iftaari. The recipe is adapted from http://www.babylovingmama.com/2014/06/refreshing-orange-mango-lemonade-punch-recipe.html where the chef has used canned juices. The recipe idea is taken from the given link but i made certain variations to it as i were using fresh fruits.
- Wash and peel mangoes. Cut into medium size pieces keeping the seed aside. Take a juicer and extract the mango juice out of those pieces. Keep aside.
- Similarly peel oranges and take the juice out in a juicer. Keep aside.
- Now strain both the juices one by one through a mesh. Remove extracts and store the juice in a pitcher.
- Take a fresh vessel and make lemonade with the lemons and sugar.
- Mix all three juices together and stir them nicely. You may now add some mint leaves to it for flavor and aroma. Store the mango orange lemonade in a pitcher and refrigerate it.
- Just before serving, add handful of ice cubes in the glass and fill the glass 3/4 with the lemonade. Now add soda to fill the rest of the glass.
- Garnish it with round lemon slices and mint leaves. You can also use mango pieces or orange slices for garnishing.
- Serve chilled!
Note :
If you don't have lemonade at home or lemons to make lemonade, you may directly use any lime soda like Limca etc to the concentrate.
You can use ready made juices to make the concentrate. But avoid it because it contains high amount of preservatives. Try using fresh fruits if you urge to have a good health.
