by Shaheen Ali

My fitness regime these days doesn’t allow me to intake sugar. But as i have a terrible sweet tooth, my sweet cravings just not allow me to sit and relax. Now all i need to do is search for sugar fee recipes that can fulfill my cravings and give me a health benefit as well.

Chilled milk works as a brilliant anti-oxidant, hence i try to involve milk into my son’s daily diet in various forms. One such form of a nutritious intake is to have a chilled milk shake flavored with seasonal fruits. The month of October is dedicated to Breast Cancer awareness too, hence now i have three reasons to make this healthy pomegranate n honey milk shake.

1. The pink color is dedicate for the social awareness for Breast Cancer under the pink ribbon awareness programme.

2. The pomegranate and the milk combines to give a healthy intake and fills the nutritional requirements of my son.

3. As it is a sugar free recipe, it somewhere helps my sugar craving settle down a bit and also fills my tummy well.

So let’s proceed to check the ingredients required and the method to make this simple yet amazingly refreshing and filling milk shake.

  1. Take pomegranate and slice it into two halves with a knife. Now placing bowl beneath hit the pomegranate shell with a wooden ladle. By doing this all the pearls will come out easily and collect in the bowl. Do the same for the other pomegranate too.
  2. In a blender jar, mix pomegranate pearls, milk and honey and blend it till the pearls grind and mix well with the milk giving a pink color.
  3. If you want a smooth milk shake you can filter it, but i prefer having it this way only, through which i can get a bite of coarsely ground pomegranate as well. Its completely your choice.
  4. Collect the milk shake in a pitcher and refrigerate it.
  5. Serve chilled by adding few ice cubes in the glass and fill with the milk shake.
