Panna Cotta is a traditional Italian Dessert made with milk, cream and vanilla extract. This decadent dessert can be flavored as per your choice and is usually topped with fresh fruits and sweet dessert sauces.
I have made panna cotta a couple of times before, using fresh strawberries and honey. This time i wanted to give it some Indian flavor. Fresh dates jaggery which is commonly known as Nolen Gurr in Western part of India specially West Bengal. Every winter me and my mother get our fresh stock which we store for the whole year to make kheer, puli, patishapta etc. The winters are incomplete without Nolen Gurr desserts.
The moment i decided to make panna cotta, nolen gurr flavor was my immediate choice. The thick creamy pudding texture of panna cotta blended superbly with the date jaggery flavor. A must try for everyone who wants to explore international desserts with Indian flavors!
